This 2 days Murchison falls safaris is a short trip to Uganda’s oldest and largest National Park situated in the northwestern region of the country spreading inland from the shores of Lake Albert around the Victoria Nile up to the Karuma Falls. Murchison Falls National Park hosts 76 mammal species as well as Uganda’s largest Nile crocodile population and more than 450 bird species most of which will be spotted during this trip. The Park is also known for protecting Murchison waterfalls which is the world’s strongest falls and making a hike to its top is wondrous and mesmerizing. Activities during your 2 days safari include a boat cruise to the bottom of the falls, hiking and viewing the falls from its top and game viewing where you will spot four out of Africa’s Big five and as well see numerous animals and bird species.

Day 1: Depart for Murchison from Kampala, hike to the top of the falls and a boat cruise

Pickup will be very early in the morning at your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe and hit the road for your drive to Murchison Falls National Park lasting for about 4 to 5 hours. Once at the Park, you will drive to the Falls where you will make a hike to the top of Murchison falls for magnificent views of the Nile squeezing through a narrow gorge of about 7 meters wide rapturing into violent waterfalls into a devil’s cauldron about 43 meters below. Viewing the world’s most spectacular waterfalls is breathtaking. You will set off for your lunch within the Park before reporting for your evening boat cruise to the bottom of the falls along the Nile River. You will enjoy up-close sightings of wildlife that spend most of their time during the day in the Nile waters and along the River banks such as Nile crocodiles, schools of hippopotamuses, giant monitor lizards, buffaloes and a plethora of water birds like African fish eagle, skimmers, egrets and many more. Return and get whisked to your lodge for dinner and an overnight.

Day 2: Morning game drive and travel back to Kampala

Wakeup very early for your breakfast and report to the Park’s savannah grasslands for game viewing right in the perfect time to catch-up with the nocturnal animals rush back to their hideouts. Drive through the Park’s tracks for spectacular wildlife sightings such as large herds of buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, hartebeests, waterbucks, Uganda kobs, impalas, lions, leopards, oribis to mention but a few. Bird lovers are as well guaranteed of having best sightings of several avian species such as the Abyssinian ground hornbills, helmeted guineafowl, spur fowls and many more. Having had your unforgettable wildlife experience, checkout of the Park to embark on your drive back to Kampala with a lunch en-route along the way arriving in the evening to be dropped off at your hotel or place of convenience within the city center.
