OVERVIEW
3 days Uganda gorillas is an amazing safari that will take you Uganda’s celebrated national park which harbors mountain gorillas. They are 2 national parks in Uganda where you can find gorillas and these are Mgahinga and Bwindi. This safari however will take you to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. You will drive via Mbarara highway, you will enjoy a stopover at Kayabwe to experience the Equator experience, take pictures as you enjoy standing in both hemispheres of the Earth.
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
On this first day, our driver guide will pick you either at Entebbe International airport or from the hotel, he will brief you about the safari and be ready to set off for your first day of gorilla trekking safari in Uganda. You will drive in the country side as you enjoy the green nature of Uganda’s rolling hills, you will have a second stopover in Mbarara to have lunch, thereafter, you will embark on your journey to Bwindi, arriving in the late evening, connect to your lodge accommodation, check-in, have dinner and over overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking and Batwa community walk
Arise in the morning, have an early breakfast and be transferred to the park headquarters where you will be briefed by the park rangers about gorilla trekking etiquettes. The gorillas are tracked according to their families, you will be allocated a gorilla family to track, go with a ranger guide who will help you to locate the gorillas and this might take you about 1 to 5 hours depending on the previous movement of the gorillas. After you met them, you will spend an hour with the gorillas, taking pictures and videos. The forest is gifted with other species such as birds which will be singing for you, you will later return to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking certificate, then proceed to the hotel to freshen up, and in the evening you will visit Batwa community to experience the beauty of the cultural set up of the Batwa people. They have a lot in store for you, they will sing and dance for you, they also have some craft shops where you can buy souvenirs. After all that, you will return to the lodge to enjoy the last night in the thick forests of Bwindi.
Day 3: Checkout and departure
After a scrumptious breakfast, check our of the lodge and bid a farewell to Bwindi as you hit the road back to Kampala. On this day, you will have lunch en-route in Mbarara, you will visit Igongo cultural center where Ankole culture is exhibited. You will enjoy listening to stories of great Ankole kings, thereafter, embark on your journey to Kampala.
