3 Days Jinja and Sipi falls trip is one of the best Uganda adventure tours that will take you to Jinja which is regarded as Uganda’s adventure capital endowed with beautiful scenery, its landscapes and boundless treasures. In Jinja, you will explore the source of the Nile on a boat cruise making visits to both the Mahtma Ghandi monument and the old power dam. Furthermore at the Nile you will kiss the Nile waters from a 40meter high end after which you will proceed to Kapchorwa district where you will have the opportunity to hike to all the three waterfalls and interact with the locals during your community visits. Get excited to learn about the early Stone Age period of the indigenous Batwa and the current Iteso people on your visit to the Nyero rock painting site located in Ngora district.
Day 1: Transfer to Jinja – Source of the Nile and Bungee jumping – Drive to Sipi
A driver guide from Glory summit tours and travel will pick you up from your hotel around Kampala or Entebbe airport and set off for your 2 and a half hours’ drive to Jinja as you traverse through tea plantations, sugarcane plantations and African dotted markets arriving in Jinja to visit the source of the Nile. You will take a boat cruise from the sailing club and proceed to the source of the Nile as you enjoy the bird life like the great blue turaco, giant kingfisher, rock Pratencols and many more guaranteed of visits to Mahtma Ghandi monument and the old power dam before returning to kiss the Nile during your bungee jumping. Retire off the Nile to have lunch and embark on your 3 hours’ drive to Sipi falls in Kapchorwa arriving to check-in at your reserved lodge for dinner and an overnight.
Day 2: Hike to the three Sipi waterfalls – Sipi community visits
Have an early morning breakfast and proceed for a hike to all the three Sipi falls with each falls offering different adventures, discoveries and hiking experiences. The entire hike lasts for about 3 to 4 hours led by an informed guide while you enjoy stunning views of the waterfalls, Mountain Elgon and panoramic views of the valley best suited for photography. Return to the lodge for lunch before you make visits to one of Uganda’s cultural tribes known as the Bagisu that still practices some of its old traditions like the Imbalu an event where grown up males are circumcised as cultural songs and dances are performed. You are as well allowed to join if interested as you still learn more about their social dynamics, local food such as the “Malewa” and many more. Get back to the lodge to have dinner and an overnight.
Day 3: Nyero stone age site – transfer to Kampala and departure
Having had your breakfast, checkout of the lodge facility to catch your 1 to 2 hours’ drive to Nyero rock paintings in Ngora district where you will enjoy the untold stories of this site attributed to the Old Stone Age era. A local guide will take you around these beautiful rock paintings enclosed in the caves while he narrates stories, facts and historical myths behind this historical site which are all interesting to know and listen to. Embark on your drive to Mbale town for your lunch after which you will proceed with your drive to Kampala to be dropped off at your hotel of preference around the city or Entebbe as you wait to catch your flight back home.
