This 3 Days Lowland Gorillas and snakes tour, you will take part in gorilla trekking where the eastern lowland gorillas will be visited and an hour spent in their presence. Also, visit the serpent du Congo, the only place where you will see different Snakes such as the cobras, vipers, mambas and many more. The tour begins and ends in Kigali Rwanda offering you a great scenery of the surroundings with different hills, green vegetation and many more others. Kahuzi-Biega national park is one of the most rewarding protected areas in Africa with endangered eastern lowland gorillas.
Day 1: Transfer to Kahuzi Biega National Park from Kigali
Meet and greet the assigned driver guide that will take you through a briefing about this amazing g tour to Kahuzi-Biega national park. You will straightaway head to DR Congo and visit Kahuzi-Biega NP a recognized protected area in Congo homing the rare and most threatened eastern lowland gorillas. This park occupies two mountains that is Mt Kahuzi and Mt Biega. As the name suggests, these gorillas are located in the lowland areas of these two mountains. Arrive after a journey that will take about 7 hours and check in to your accommodation for Diner.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in lowland areas
The day commences with breakfast at the lodge and then a drive to the park offices where you will encounter a briefing about this experience. You will encounter the dos and don’ts, dress code you need, basic requirements, assignment of the park guide and crosschecking of the gorilla trekking permits and many more. Begin the experience where the park guides will take you into the forest together with fellow trekkers. Trekking time can last for 6 to 8 hours but an hour is involved an hour while in the presence of the gorillas. Trekking involves walking long distances and this calls to carry enough snacks and drinking water. You head back to the lodge after the experience and this will be the end of the day.
Day 3: Visit Serpents du Congo and departure
Wake up, and have your breakfast which will be followed by checking out from the lodge and driving to visit the serpent du Congo. For the love of reptiles especially Snakes, the tour will last for 2 hours. You have a chance to spot different Snakes including vipers, mambas, cobras and many more. Later on, head to Kigali with en-route lunch and be dropped at the airport to mark the end of the tour.
