Mountain Gorilla in Mgahinga National Park

OVERVIEW

  Mgahinga National Park is the smallest national park in Uganda covering an area of 33.9km.sq found in Southwestern Uganda. The park is famously known for harboring mountain gorillas and also golden monkeys. While on this 3 days Mgahinga National Park Safari, you will be able to meet the mountain gorillas in their natural habitat, the park is also hosts mountain Sabinyo and Mountain Muhavura which are part of Virunga ranges which appear in Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda and Uganda as well.  The safari will expose you to one of the amazing tribe called Batwa who are indigenous tribe that have lived in the forests since time memorial.

Day 1: Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

  On your first day, arise in morning for a delicious breakfast then our driver guide will pick you from the hotel, brief you about the safari and then embark on the journey. You will drive for about 9-10hours with stopover at the Equator in Kayabwe where you engage in the Equator experience, taking pictures while standing in both hemispheres of the Earth, and thereafter, you will embark on the journey, driving smoothly to Mbarara City where you will have lunch and then proceed to Mgahinga gorilla national park, arriving in the evening, connect directly to your lodge for accommodation, have dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking and Batwa cultural tour

  You will wake up in the morning, have a scrumptious breakfast and head to the park headquarters where you will be briefed about the trekking etiquettes, be allocated a gorilla family to track, thereafter, head to the forest to meet the gentle primates. You will encounter the gorillas, spend an hour with them, as you take pictures and recording every bit of moment as you appreciate the nature. The forest is endowed with other species such forest elephants, bush pigs, butterflies, birds, plants among others. You will return to the park headquarters to be granted a trekking certificate, then proceed to your lodge for lunch, relax as you wait for a visit to the Batwa community who will entertain you and make you evening a memorable one.

Day 3: Golden monkey tracking and departure

Arise in the morning for a scrumptious breakfast, head to the park headquarter to be guided on the golden monkey trekking. These monkeys are always near in the bamboo forests, enjoy seeing them return to the lodge, get your packed lunch and then head to back to Kampala/Entebbe for you flight.
