3 days Rwanda primates safari is a brief safari that is strictly targeting travelers who have limited time in Rwanda but want to feel a touch of her primates. The safari is so brief that it will start with a transfer to Volcanoes National Park a home to mountain gorillas, proceed to Nyungwe Forest National Park where you will encounter chimpanzees.
Day 1: Pick-up and transfer to Volcanoes National Park
On your first let, meet our driver guide who will pick you from the hotel/airport, brief you about the safari and then immediately transfer to volcanoes national park which is located in the northeastern part of the country. You will drive for about 5 hours, arrive in the afternoon, check-in the lodge, have lunch and in the evening, you will visit Iby’wacu also known as gorilla guardian village. You will be entertained by the people living here who were poachers and fruit gatherers but thy were tamed and given different responsibilities, they have been taught a lot for example carpentry, they know how to sing, they preserve the environment among other stuffs. They will dance for you, sing for you, and later return to the lodge in the late evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking and transfer to Nyungwe
Arise in the morning, grab your breakfast and head to the park headquarters for a briefing bout the mountain gorilla trekking, it’s here where you will be assigned a gorilla family to track and also given a ranger guide who will help you to locate your gorilla family. You will spend an hour with gorillas, take pictures as you record every moment, return to the park headquarters to get your gorilla trekking certificate, proceed to the lodge, grab a snack, check-out and transfer to Nyungwe, arrive in the evening, connect to your accommodation, check-in, have dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking and departure
This is another eventful day, where you will arise on a scrumptious breakfast, and head to the park headquarters to be guided on dos and don’ts while tracking chimpanzees, you will be tracking chimpanzees as you enjoy sweet melodies from the birds, spend an hour with chimps, return to the park headquarters for chimpanzee tracking certificate, proceed to the lodge, enjoy lunch and check-out, thus marking the end of your trip.
