5 days Kenya wildlife and Uganda primates safari will take you to Kibale National Park in Uganda which is the world’s primates’ capital that harbors up to 13 primate species which are not found elsewhere in the country and Masai Mara National reserve in Kenya. In Uganda, expect to track chimpanzees while you encounter other various primates in Kibale’s dense forests. This safari will involve a flight from Uganda to Kenya where you will be driven to Masai Mara which is one of the best places in the entire world for excellent game viewing with more than 1000s of mammals to be spotted. This is an opportunity for you as well to experience one of the world’s greatest animal migrations as wildebeests cross the Mara River to Serengeti in Tanzania in search of fresh pastures and water.
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Kibale National Park
Glory summit tours and travel’s driver guide will pick you up from your hotel around Kampala or upon arrival and transfer you to Kibale National Park via Masaka road which is a 6 to 7 hours’ drive. Along your journey, you will have a stopover in Kayabwe for the equator line experience while you take pictures having your feet in both the northern and southern hemispheres. You will have your lunch en-route in Mbarara to enjoy Uganda’s mouthwatering cuisines and proceeding to arrive in the late afternoon to check-in at your pre-arranged lodge for dinner and an overnight.
Day 2: Chimpanzee trek – Bigodi wetland sanctuary
Today have your breakfast served in the early morning and be transferred to the Park headquarters for a briefing about the chimpanzee trekking dos and don’ts. You will be led by ranger guides into the dense forests to locate a group of habituated chimps which may last for 1 to 4 hours depending on their movements. An hour will be enjoyed with the chimpanzees while you spot other primates and a variety of forest birds. Return to the lodge for lunch before proceeding for a nature walk in Bigodi wetland sanctuary. In this sanctuary you will be able to see various animals like sitatungas, bushbucks, otters, mongoose, otters, red-tailed monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, grey cheeked mangabeys and many more. Return back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight.
Day 3: Transfer to Kasese airstrip for a flight to Entebbe to Masai Mara
Have your morning breakfast and checkout of the lodge to be driven to Kasese airstrip where you will catch your domestic flight to Entebbe international airport which lasts for 2 hours. Upon arrival at Entebbe our representative will be waiting to help you out catch your flight to Nairobi which lasts to 1 and a half hours. You will have your lunch in Nairobi before proceeding with your 3 to 4 hours’ drive to Masai Mara National reserve. Arrival will be in the late afternoon to check-in at your booked lodge for relaxation, dinner and an overnight.
Day 4: Entire day game drive exploring Masai Mara
Wake up to a scrumptious breakfast and head to the reserve plains for a whole day wildlife viewing where you will have the opportunity to spot the African big five. You will as well be driven to the Mara River where you will witness the wildebeest migration as millions of wildebeests, zebras and gazelles cross the River to Serengeti of Tanzania. At this juncture you will as well witness the escapades of crocodiles feeding on these animals and as big cats tryout their hunting tricks. This is now the right time for you to have a picnic lunch under a shading acacia tree while you enjoy the wonderful views of the Masai Mara plains. After your lunch you will re-hit the plains for your final catchup of the game as several animals are out of their hideouts for dinner and sunbathing. Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight.
Day 5: Morning game drive – transfer to Nairobi and departure
Today have your breakfast packed and return to the Masai Mara plains to catchup with the early risers of the jungle as you capture the true African sunrise which is so beautiful to watch. This is another opportunity for you to see more animals for example giraffes, lions, elephants, leopards, rhinos, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, cheetahs, hippopotamuses, Aardwolves, antelopes, bat eared foxes and many more. Return to the lodge for lunch after which you will checkout to embark on your drive to be dropped off at a hotel in Nairobi or to Jomo Kenyatta international airport to catch your flight back.
