7 Days Bwindi from Kigali & Masai Mara

Overview

7 Days Bwindi from Kigali and Masai Mara safari will expose you to endangered mountain gorillas in Bwindi National Park located in Southwestern Uganda and the wildlife in Masai Mara National Reserve which is Kenya’s most visited destination. You will be spotting the Africa’s big five animals which are; lion, leopards, rhino, elephants and buffalo, high chances of witnessing the annual wildebeest migration, bush breakfast and picnic lunch will also be enjoyed will in the jungle. Meet predators hunting for the flesh, mating, how they play with young ones, alpha male protecting the gorilla group trekked, and beautiful scenery in Kigali covered with thousands of hills.

Day 1: Pick up from Kigali and city tour

Our driver guide will pick you from the Airport in Kigali and then do city tour where you encounter attractions like the Kimironko market, the religious sites like mosques and churches, museums like the Kigali genocide museum, so many artisans where you can buy some souvenirs in case you need them. You will spend the whole day in Kigali and then an overnight as well.

Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi and visit Batwa community

Arise in the morning enjoy a scrumptious breakfast and then transfer from Kigali to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park a home to endangered mountain gorillas. This park is a home to almost half of the mountain gorillas in the world. You will arrive in the park in the afternoon hours, check-in to the lodge accommodation and visit the Batwa community who will take you through the cultural setting of Africa through the music, dance and drama, dress code, meals and more.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking experience     

Have an early morning breakfast and then be transferred to the park headquarters for a briefing. This takes you through the guidelines you will follow while trekking. Meet the gorilla family to be trekked as it will be allocated by the ranger guided which will be the most rewarding encounter as the Silverback controls the family or group. Trekking will take about 2-6 hours in the jungle including an hour with the gorillas, head back to the lodge for lunch, relaxation and dinner.

Day 4: Transfer back to Kigali and fly to Nairobi then proceed to Masai Mara

Drive back to Kigali after breakfast with a departure flight to Nairobi Kenya. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by our driver representative in Kenya and then head to the Masai Mara Game Reserve with a great view of the rift valley escarpment as you are at Talek gate. Arrive and head to the lodge, check-in to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5&6: Full day game drive in Masai Mara

Spend these 2 days taking part in the game drive to explore the beauty of Masai Mara. Enjoy the endless plains which are decorated with a number of wildlife for example lions, elephants, buffalo, cheetahs, rhinos, wildebeest, gazelles, zebras, giraffes, impalas, birds such as hornbills, vultures among others. When you visit Masai Mara in the dry season you will witness the annual wildebeest migration that involves the movement of millions of wildebeests and zebras which is the largest animal movement in the world.

Day 7: Game drive and departure

Arise in the morning, enjoy a scrumptious breakfast, check-out of the lodge and then go for a game drive with bigger chances to see some animal species that you will have missed in the 2 Days game drive. You will use the tracks that will be taking you out park, enjoy a picnic lunch and then head to Nairobi for a flight back home thus marking the end of your trip.
