3 days Kibale chimpanzee trekking tour, Kibale being one of the most attractive national parks in Uganda, it is blessed with a tropical rain forest and several animals including the famous chimpanzees desired by many calling it home. Kibale has more to offer away from the chimpanzees like the olive baboons, vervet monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, mangabeys, leopards, duikers, elephants, buffaloes, golden cats, warthogs, bush pigs, black bishops, green-breasted pitta, dusky crimsonwing, king fishers, gonoleks, hairy-breasted barbet, bushshrike, masked apalis, great-blue turaco, beautiful scenery with vegetation, crater lakes and many more. The trip will start in Kampala and end in Kampala.
Day 1: Drive to Kibale Forest National Park
Day 1 of 3, will have you meet with our driver guide from Glory Summit Tours at a spot chosen by you and he will give you a brief of how the trip will unfold for the next 3days. You will then set off for Kibale which is about 5-6hours, with a lunch stop in Fort Portal town. After lunch you will visit the famous Amabeere ga Nyinamwiru, learn about the history and also have some picture moments. Once done with Amabeere, you will proceed to Kibale and check into your lodge for the night. You will have dinner and retire for the night.
Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi cultural walk
An early breakfast is scheduled after which you will head to the Kanyachu visitors center at 7:30am for briefing before your trek, during this briefing the rules will be given on how to handle the trek in general then a park guide will be allocated to you. The trek goes on for about 30minutes-4hours. Once the chimps are found, you will be given an hour with them in their habitat. Other primates like baboons and monkeys plus different bird species will be seen during the trek. Lunch will be served after the trek at the lodge, thereafter you will get ready for the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for a walk, accompanied by a local guide you will learn more about the different cultures, local medicines and traditional life. Story telling will be done by the community people, plus the history and issues being faced by the developing community will also be looked at. While at the sanctuary you will see birds and primates even chimpanzees which might be rare while on the hike and this will take about 3hours. You will then return to the hotel in time for dinner after which you will take leave and rest for the night at will.
Day 3: Checkout and departure to Kampala
You will wake up, pack and check out of your lodging, have a breakfast then depart for Kampala which is about 5-6hours. With the Rwenzori Mountains for a view, you will head to Kampala through Mbarara. You will have lunch in Mbarara and another stopover at the equator for picture moments, exploring the craft world then continue to Kampala and will be dropped off at the agreed point which will mark the end of the 5 days trip to the fascinating parks.
