Overview

4 Days Uganda Chimpanzee tracking safari is one of the best safari in Uganda that takes you to Kibale Forest National Park and Queen Elizabeth National Park far away in the western region of the country. Kibale forest National Park is well known as the world’s primate’s capital harboring over 13 primate species found nowhere else in the country with the endangered chimpanzees inclusive. Proceeding to Queen Elizabeth National Park, you will have the best African wildlife encounters as you cruise along the Kazinga channel and be driven through the Park’s savannah plains to have a classical safari feeling.

Day 1: Pickup and transfer to Kibale National Park

You will be picked up upon your arrival at the airport by a driver guide from Glory summit tours and travel who will then brief you through your travel plan highlighting your trip expectations. You will there after set off for your 5 hours’ drive to Kibale National Park with a stop-over in Fort Portal to have lunch. After lunch you will proceed for a visit to the caves of stalactites and stalagmites also known as the Amabere Ga Nyina Mwiru which is a strong cultural heritage site amongst the Batoro. You will have thorough insight into their formation as well as their cultural attachment to the locals after which you will proceed to Kibale National Park to check-in at a lodge for your dinner and an overnight.  

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi wetland sanctuary

Today you will have breakfast served in the early morning and transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing of what is expected of you during the chimpanzee trek. The ranger guides will lead you into Kibale’s dense rainforests to locate a group of habituated chimps after which you will spend an hour closely watching them feed, play and nature their young ones. You will return to the lodge for lunch before heading for a nature walk in Bigodi wetland. This wetland is known for harboring several mammals, primates and various bird species that you will all spot. You will visit the communities around the sanctuary to learn about their culture and traditions before returning to the lodge for dinner and an overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth  game drive and boat cruise on Kazinga channel

You will wake up very early to checkout of the lodge in Kibale National Park with packed breakfast and set off for your 1 and a half hours’ drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Upon arrival, you will proceed for a game drive to encounter animals like buffaloes, lions, waterbucks, bushbucks, warthogs, hippopotamuses with a variety of bird types. You will retire off the jungle to go check-in at your reserved lodge and have lunch as you prepare for another wildlife encounter while on a boat cruise on Kazinga channel. Many animals will be spotted quenching their thirst along the Kazinga shores as well as various birds roaming the water channel. This boat cruise lasts for 2 to 3 hours after which you will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Kampala and departure

Wakeup to have your breakfast and checkout to embark on your drive back to Kampala with stopovers in Mbarara for your lunch and at the Equator line in Kayabwe. You will enjoy the beauty of where the earth is divided into two equal parts as you take pictures on the equator monument as well as purchasing some souvenirs from craft shops to take with you back home. Arrival will be in the late afternoon to be dropped off at a hotel of your choice in Kampala or at Entebbe international airport to catch your flight back home.
