5 Days Uganda Primates Safari
Overview

5 Days Uganda primates safari is an amazing safari that is specifically for tracking Uganda’s celebrated primates and these are gorillas and chimpanzees. This safari is designed for travelers who want to visit Uganda and engage in gorilla trekking experience and chimpanzee trekking. You will have to visit 2 national parks and these are Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and Kibale forest national park. The safari is going to expose you to other species such as red-tailed monkeys, bush-babies/mangabey, birds especially the shoebill stork, Rwenzori turacos, kingfisher, flycatchers, papyrus Gonolek among other wildlife species.

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Kibale National Park

Our driver guide will pick you from the Airport or from the Hotel and transfer you to Kibale Forest National Park and this park is famous for being the Primate capital in the whole world. You will drive to the countryside where rolling hills lie over the other and amazing homesteads engulfing hills. You will have lunch in Fort-Portal also known as the tourism city, proceed to Kibale, arrive in the evening, check-in to the lodge accommodation, and have dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking

Arise in the morning, grab a cup of tea/coffee and be transferred to the park headquarters where you will be taught about the dos and don’ts while tracking chimpanzees. Chimpanzee tracking always takes about 30minutes to 5hours, including the hour you spend with the chimps taking pictures, videos, you will be entertained by birds that will be singing for you, thereafter you will return to the park headquarters to receive your chimp tracking certificate, proceed to the lodge for lunch and if you feel strong, you will engage in guided nature walk to Bigodi wetland.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

This is another fruit day for you where you will wake up in the morning, have delicious breakfast, check-out and head to Bwindi a home to gentle giant gorillas deep in the southwestern Uganda bordering Rwanda. You will arrive in the afternoon hours, check-in the lodge, have lunch and visit Batwa community in the evening to crown your day with stories from the ancient people. In the late evening, you will return to the lodge, have dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Gorilla tracking and relaxation

You will wake up in the early morning, greet your intestines with a delicious breakfast, be transferred to the park headquarters for a briefing about gorilla tracking, you will be allocated a gorilla family to track, spend an hour with gorillas, take pictures and later return to park headquarters for gorilla tracking certificate, proceed to the lodge, have lunch, relax at the lodge, as you get so intimate to the environment

Day 5: Check-out and departure

Arise in the morning, have your breakfast served and then check-out and transfer back to Kampala. You will enjoy a hot lunch in Mbarara, proceed to Kampala, another stopover will be at the Equator at Kayabwe where you engage in Equator experience, take pictures while standing in both hemispheres of the earth, there are craft shops as well where you can buy souvenirs. You will thereafter embark on your journey and this will mark the end of your trip.
