Overview

This budget tour will take you to Uganda’s most visited national parks due to the attractions and unique activities that are carried out here. In a period of 9 days, you will visit 5 national parks and Ziwa rhino sanctuary and this is the only place where you can track rhinos in Uganda. Every national park has got something very special and unique to offer different from another, on this trip you will expect to track chimpanzees in Kibale National Park, Mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, Murchison falls national park which has the a variety of animals, birds and plant life, Murchison falls is famous for having the strongest waterfalls in the whole world, you will proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park Uganda’s savanna national park famous for tree climbing lions and the amazing launch cruise on Kazinga Channel.

Day 1: Pick and transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

On this first day, our driver guide will pick you from the Airport/hotel, brief you about the safari and then embark on the journey to Murchison falls national park where you will have an en-route to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track the rhinos. You are always given 2 hours to spend with these animals, thereafter, you will enjoy a hot lunch and proceed to Murchison falls arriving in the evening, check-in your lodge accommodation, enjoy dinner and an overnight.

Day 2: Game drive and boat cruise to the bottom of the falls

This is another eventful day where you will wake up in the early morning, grab a delicious breakfast, meet your driver guide and head to the jungle to catch the animals when they are still very active, on this game drive expect to see lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants and these are the major 5 of the jungle. You will spot other animals such as Rothschild giraffes, antelopes, birds, baboons among other animals. You will later return to the lodge for relaxation and lunch, and then in the evening you will go for an evening boat cruise on the bottom of the falls. Here you will cruise through a school, of hippos, crocodiles, elephants and buffaloes will be at the shores swimming and drinking water, on this launch cruise you will visit top of the falls to enjoy the view of the waterfalls from above, you will take pictures, videos and then retire to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Check-out and transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

Arise in the morning, enjoy a scrumptious breakfast, check-out of the lodge and be transferred to Kibale Forest National Park known as the primate capital, you will drive for about 4 hours, a stopover will be in Fort-Portal for lunch and then proceed to the park. You arrive in the late evening, connect to the lodge accommodation, enjoy dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi wetland

On this beautiful day, you will arise in the morning, greet your intestines with delicious breakfast, and meet your driver guide to transfer you to Kanyanchu information center where you will be briefed about chimpanzee trekking experience. It is here that you will be assigned a chimpanzee family to track, then head to the jungle with a ranger guide who will help you to locate the chimpanzee family, after you have met the primates, you will spend an hour with chimpanzees thereafter, return to the lodge for lunch and in the evening you will visit Bigodi wetland another sanctuary of animals such as red tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, baboons, antelopes, shoebills among other species. You will return to the lodge in the late evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and evening boat cruise

You will wake up on a leisure breakfast, checkout of the lodge and be transferred to Queen Elizabeth National Park Uganda’s second largest national park after Murchison Falls National Park. There is a short distance between Kibale and Queen Elizabeth which takes about 3hours drive, you will arrive in the afternoon in Queen Elizabeth via Fort-Portal-Kasese, connect to the lodge, check-in, have lunch and in the evening, go for a boat cruise which will expose you to beautiful scenery of Kazinga channel which connects Lake Edward and Lake George. Expect to meet buffaloes, elephants, hippopotamuses, crocodiles all sharing same water body, you will enjoy sunset photographs, as you return to the lodge in the evening, you will drive through kobs, hippos and buffaloes will be grazing, proceed to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Game drive and transfer to Bwindi

Another beautiful day is here, you will wake up in the morning, greet your intestines with a delicious breakfast, check-out of the lodge and be transferred to Bwindi via Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth which is famous for tree climbing lions, buffaloes, African savanna elephants, hyenas, warthogs among others. You will later exit Queen Elizabeth and hit the road to Bwindi, arriving in lunchtime, connect to your lodge, enjoy your lunch and relax at the lodge while you catch the feeling for nature.

Day 7: Gorilla trekking and Batwa cultural tour

Arise in the morning for a scrumptious breakfast, meet your driver guide and head to the park headquarters where you will be briefed about mountain gorilla trekking experience, you will be assigned a gorilla family to track, you will face the thick forests with a ranger guide who will help you to locate the gorillas, spend an hour with them as you critically see how they feed, how they play with their young ones and your camera will be doing its best work. You will later return to the park headquarters for gorilla tracking certificate, proceed to the lodge for lunch and in the evening you will visit Batwa community who will entertain you through songs and ancient stories, they have gift shops where you can buy souvenirs in case you want them, thereafter return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Transfer to Lake Mburo and evening Boat cruise

You will wake up in the morning, have a scrumptious breakfast served at your lodge balcony, check-out and be transferred to Lake Mburo National Park which is Uganda’s smallest national park and the nearest to Kampala the capital city. The park is famous for having unique animals such as elands, zebras, impalas which are so rare in other country’s national park. You will have lunch en-route in Mbarara city, visit Igongo cultural center which exhibits Ankole culture, thereafter, you will proceed to the park, connect to the lodge, check in and later go a boat cruise on Lake Mburo where you will first enjoy the history of the lake as you spot Nile crocodiles, hippos, birds such as cormorants, pelicans, shoebills among others, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Game drive and departure

Arise in the morning for a scrumptious breakfast, meet your driver guide and go for a morning game drive to catch the animals when they are very active especially the nocturnal animals such as bush babies, leopards, hyenas, you will see herds of zebras, buffaloes, giraffes, birds will be singing for you and since this is park is a bird sanctuary for Uganda you will record a good number of birds. After a game drive, return to the lodge, check out, and transfer back to Entebbe for your scheduled flight back to home of or other destinations and this will mark the end of your safari.
