Overview

2 days best of Uganda gorilla is known for its diverse wildlife and beautiful landscapes, Uganda is a must visit for tourists around the world with more than half of the mountain gorilla world population. Thus makes gorilla trekking and habituation very much sought after as they both offer an intimate insight on how these magnificent primates live and thrive. Away from the Mountain Gorillas, you will see other primates like blue monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys and chimpanzees: animals like elephants, giant forest hogs, antelopes and jackals; birds like black bee-eater, Doherty’s bushshrike, black-billed turaco, mountain oriole, regal sunbird, Shelly’s crimsonwing, bushshrike, warbler, king fisher and finally the Batwa people, their culture and histories. All these make for a beautiful experience and will be done with guides and armed ranger to ensure safety but also provide any information you might need about the national park or its surrounding communities. The trip will start in Kampala to Bwindi impenetrable forest and back to Kampala.

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

You will be picked from the airport by our driver guide from Glory summit tours who will brief you about the next 2days, then he will take you to an airstrip for your domestic flight to Bwindi impenetrable forest, which flight will take about 2hours. Upon arrival at the airstrip, you’ll be greeted by your safari guide who will transfer you to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, then you will check in and once settled you will have lunch. When lunch is done, you will visit the Batwa people for a community cultural experience. With the help of a local guide, you will be involved in different community activities like music, dance and drama, crafting and honey harvesting. Story telling will also be key as a way to learn the Batwa people’s history and what makes them an interesting group people. You will the return to the hotel, have dinner and rest for the night in preparation for the next day.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking and departure

You will wake up early and have breakfast and then head to the briefing spot by 7:30am with a packed snack and water, you will be given the guidelines and safety precautions to be followed by a guide to ensure a smooth trek before you head into the forest to experience it. Depending on the targeted Gorilla families given to you for the trek, the trekking will take between 30minutes-6hours, it’s in this time that we shall get to see the mountain gorillas in their natural habitat, how they live, care for each other, care for their young, how and when they eat will be observed by you with a guide and armed ranger on route with you. During the trek you will also see other primates like the vervet monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys, olive baboons, chimpanzees, red-tailed monkeys, blue monkeys, pottos and galagos; animals African elephants, giant forest hogs, bush pigs and different bird species like Doherty’s bushshrike, black-billed turaco, mountain oriole, regal sunbird, Shelly’s crimsonwing, bushshrike, warbler, king fisher . Once done with the trek, you will return to your lodging, freshen up and then have lunch. With lunch out of the way, you will check out of the lodging, and relax as you wait for your scheduled flight back to Kampala. The hotel driver will take you to the airstrip for your flight back to Entebbe which will take 2hours, when you land at the airstrip our driver will pick you and drop you off at Entebbe airport in time for your check-in which will mark the end of the 2day safari.
